Guidance on managing bowel and bladder issues, with suggested fluid intake levels
ERIC published guidance for schools on managing bowel and bladder issues. It reports that many children don’t drink enough fluids during the day, which can exacerbate bowel and bladder difficulties. For children aged 1-3 years the NICE 2010 guidelines for preventing constipation recommend 900-1000ml of fluid daily, increasing to 1000-1400ml of fluid for children aged 4-8 years.
